Hockey is weer leuk

J is helemaal gelukkig vandaag. Z'n hockeyclub heeft samen met zo’n tien andere verenigingen uit de regio een toernooi georganiseerd voor de E’tjes. We hebben mazzel, want we spelen thuis.

De tweede helft van de competitie is voor J’s team een aardige desillusie. Ze verliezen alle wedstrijden. Vandaag willen ze dat alle acht graag anders doen.

Hoe het nu in eens komt, is een raadsel, maar ze spelen vandaag de sterren van de hemel. Alles loopt gesmeerd. J scoort het eerste doelpunt van de dag en daarna volgen er nog veel meer van zijn teamgenoten. Ze worden net geen poulewinnaar, maar zelfs dat vinden ze allemaal prima. Ze genieten van de hotdogs, de ijsjes en de mooie medaille. Het was een topdag!






J is totally happy today. There’s a big [field] hockey tournament. The E youth is competing with 10 other clubs from the area. We’re in luck because we’re playing at our own club.

The last few games of the competition were a major letdown for the boys. They loose every single game. So today everyone really wants to do it differently.

I can’t tell what makes the difference, but out of the blue, all eight boys are playing their best hockey ever. They really are a TEAM. J scores the first goal of the day and many more are scored by his teammates. Too bad they just miss first place in their group, but they’re all OK with that. They enjoy their hotdogs, icecream and nice medal.

It sure was a great day!
