De spellingafspraken lijken voor Jochem een ‘never ending story’.
Vier jaar in Amerika wonen doet wonderen voor je Engels, maar het geeft je Nederlands toch ook een aardige deuk. Zo heeft Jochem bijvoorbeeld moeite het verschil te horen tussen een V en een W.
Hij werkt er thuis echt keihard aan, om al die spellingafspraken in zijn koppie te stampen. En gelukkig begint dat harde werken nu ook zijn vruchten af te werpen. Maar het blijft een lastig onderdeel.
Omdat hij er zo verschrikkelijk zijn best voor doet, moest ik er toch zeker een LO over maken.

Living for four years in the US does miracles for your English vocabulary, but it does put a dent in your Dutch as well. For instance J has a hard time hearing the difference between a V and a W (pronounced as Vay and Way).
He works so hard on memorizing all these different spelling rules. And luckily his effort is paying off. But it’s not easy at all.
Knowing all the time he is putting in this subject, I just had to cover it in a LO.
