Een van de dingen waar ik herhaaldelijk met mijn jongens over in de clinch lig, is hun notoire televisie kijkgedrag. Volgens mij hebben ze dat ding het liefste 24/7 aanstaan, terwijl het apparaat mij eigenlijk gestolen kan worden.

Ik gruwel van de meeste programma’s op Nickelodeon en Jetix is voor mij helemaal taboe met het veschrikkelijke Pokémon. Ongerust over wat deze vreselijk passieve hobby met hun hersens doet, heb ik nu een nieuwe regel ingevoerd. Als die snert TV nou echt zo nodig aan moet staan, stem dan maar af op Animal Planet of Discovery Channel. Daar steek je tenminste nog iets van op….

Ik kom net terug van het hockeyveld met de jongste twee als oudste mij meteen vertelt wat hij net heeft geleerd….

Mam weet je dat een leeuw wel dertig keer seks heeft per dag!

Uh, ja dat klopt lieverd tijdens de paringtijd.

Gelukkig hoefde papa en jij het maar een keer te doen, hè!.....

Trek jij maar snel je hockeyschoenen aan, je moet zo weg!



One of the things I often fight about with my boys is their infamous television addiction. I think they would love to have the TV set on 24/7. While I could care less about the thing.

I despise most programs on Nickelodeon and Jetix is really an absolute NO NO, with its horrific Pokemon. Worried about what effects this tremendously passive pastime will have on their brains, I introduced a new rule. If you really can’t live without watching the darn thing, please tune in to Animal Planet or the Discovery Channel. At least that’s educational….

The minute I return with the youngest two from the hockey field this morning, my eldest is filling me in about what he has just learned….

Mom, do you know a lion is having sex thirty times a day!

Uh, that’s right sweetie, when it’s mating season they do.

Good for you, daddy and you only had to do it once, right!.....
